She assists with data collection, database maintenance, survey translation, interpretation, and administration–ensuring that complex information is communicated in simple, accessible language. Is a Spanish-English Bilingual Consultant for the I-T Child Project in New York. When not doing research, Brooke loves reading, cooking and baking, and making crafts. She has worked on multiple projects encompassing a range of topics around early science education including: Dual Language Learning children, early science assessment, family engagement, professional development creation and delivery. She has done this mainly by examining early science education as a driver of high-quality early interactions between children, and their parents and teachers. Brooke’s research is mainly focused on supporting early development of preschool children from low-income families. in Cognitive Science and Spanish from the University of Virginia. in Child Study and Human Development from Tufts University, and a B.A. in Applied Developmental Psychology at the University of Miami. She conducts research on projects relating to the CHILD Tool, including the I-T CHILD study, secondary data analyses of the Ohio CHILD-informed ECMHC, and California English language learner studies. Is an Associate Research Scientist at the Child Study Center. Her primary area of interest is the promotion of social and emotional learning skills in young children. Chin serves as expert panelist on several research study committees and advisory board councils around issues of quality and equity in early education. She possesses a broad repertoire of skills ranging from conducting rigorous research and program evaluations, developing program models impacting youth, developing assessment tools, and providing professional development opportunities for early childhood care and education staff.
